So why not include splinter weapon in the mix?

AMAZING IDEA. That'd be the biggest farming spike in existence.

The irony is that splinter isn't going to do much if you needed the Nearby clause.

That's what I was thinking. And neither would Ignite arrows. Hell, at this point, you may as well use barrage. At least -it's- damage boost is unconditional :P
Sounds good, though I'd rather stick to using BHA/Volley/Triple shot with Splinter/Nightmare weapon

You guys got me. Oh well, -11 degeneration to 3 foes at the same time isn't that bad.

By that you seem to be implying it's uber hard to get foes to stand adjacent to each other! If this was the case how has splinter-volley been working so well?

Degen is capped at 10!

Degen in PvE isn't the best way to go about things anyway :P

Nope. Degen is not capped at 10. Conditional degen is capped at 10, but you can have hexes and the likes go beyond 10. Trust me, as a trapper vs. mixed in Zaishen Elite, with 15 Wildy, I have +10 regeneration from Troll Unguent. But even after I use that I often have still a -2 degeneration.

Effective regeneration, positive or negative, is capped at 10. It can stack beyond that, to be sure, but it has no effect. Therefore, it's easier to discount it, and just say, "It's capped at 10."
Strong, Mighty, and Brave Zaishen Elite Trappers run 16 Wilderness, and no Troll's.
Haven't had a chance to try the new Incendiary Arrows, but I am curious why they chose to put in an AoE attack without stripping preps, or was it the +damage from [[Barrage] and [[Volley] that worried them for balance?

Incendiary arrows + splinter, because F@(|< you barrage, couple this with either expert focus or apply poison, and laugh, good things come to those who refuse to use barrage and instead wait, those good things are a suped up version of the very skill you despise but..on steroids.

ok fine smartypants, but you knew exactly what I meant
I'll rephrase: The amount of damage degen can cause is capped at 10 pips. To be honest, I seldom see a reason to go over 10. I don't see "People might use Troll Unguent or Healing Breeze" as a good enough reason to pump out more than 10 pips, especially given that 10 pips is only 20 DPS...

So the fact that IA is in WS doesn't bother you?
You get burning at the expense of extra damage (the + damage of either barrage or volley AND from having to lower marks) and at the expense of lower expertise.
Edit:
Ahh - IA does 2 secs of burning at 4 already.
Missed that.

meh, still better elites out there than this.
Though if the "near" is nearby then this attack oes have a greater range than Barrage's "adjacent"

Sounds like it warrants some testing.

Does ignite arrows stack with Ebon Vanguard Standard of Honor? That can be some crazy damage.

Incendiary Arrows: changed skill to an attack skill; removed activation time; decreased recharge time to 3 seconds. Functionality changed to: "Hits 2 foes NEAR your target and inflicts Burning (1..3 seconds)."
How near is near? =P

Okay, I just tested it.
It hits the 2 closest enemies. Not just random enemies. So yes, Ignite Incendiary Arrows does work.
